Final Action Dates and Dates for Filing

A priority date is the date a case's place in line was set — for most cases, when the petition or labor certification was filed. Final Action Dates show when an immigrant visa or green card can be approved: a number is available for a case whose priority date is earlier than the date shown. Dates for Filing are an earlier step: when applicants may send documents to the National Visa Center, and, in months when USCIS says so, file for adjustment of status. “C” (Current) means numbers are available for every qualified applicant; “U” (Unauthorized) means none may be issued that month. This page reports what the bulletin says; it is not legal advice.

Method and source

Every figure is copied exactly as the U.S. Department of State publishes it in its monthly Visa Bulletin, never rounded or estimated, and each bulletin is compared with the one before it, cell by cell.
