Twenty-five years ago, superhero television changed when “Smallville” aired its first episode on October 16, 2001. It launched cinematic superhero television and, in turn, showed Clark Kent coming to grips with his powers, introducing the greatest rivalry in comic book history: Superman vs. Lex Luthor.
